Agriculture is dependent on land & water, as these two are basic natural resources. The farming community of Maharashtra frequently face the acute shortage of water.
Depleting soil fertility is also a big issue. Maximum area of state is still rainfed. To over come these issues people participation is important. Urgent structural reform are necessary to make agriculture sustainable.
